Zumba Gold LogoFor those that haven’t been to our Zumba Gold classes recently you may have missed the announcements over the last few weeks about a change in the start time.

We got a lot of feedback that the 3pm start time was difficult for those that were grandparents, as you were often involved in helping out with school pickup duties etc.

At LearnToDance we always strive to listen to our students and adapt to what works best for you, as such we have moved the start time of our Zumba Gold classes to 2.15pm which should hopefully be better for those that found the 3pm start time too late.

If you haven’t been to one of our Zumba Gold classes for a while feel free to come along, the new start time commences from today (6th November).

Remember our classes take place at Magnet Leisure Centre, Holmaneaze, Maidenhead, SL6 8AW in their upstairs dance studio near the cafe.

Zumba Gold is a low impact version of Zumba designed primarily for those in the 50+ age range, but all are welcome to these classes.

We hope to see you again soon.

Temporary Venue Wednesday Evening 11th September

King George VI Day CentreThose that regularly read our newsletters will know that we’ve been searching for a venue that could host our Wednesday night classes on a more regular basis, and finally we think we might have found one!

The potential new hall is the King George VI Day Centre, 83-95 Clarence Road, Windsor, SL4 5AR.

Before committing to a regular hire we have agreed with the hall to allow us to have a test-hire this coming Wednesday, 11th September, a date which the Eton Wick Village Hall was unavailable and so originally had been down as ‘No Dancing’.

Therefore there will be dancing this Wednesday, and the online calendar has been updated accordingly, so Salsa & Argentine Tango will be this Wednesday and not 18th September as previously stated.

The times of the classes won’t change, and if the test proves successful we may look at a permanent relocation of the classes to that hall.

Improver Level 2 starts at 7.45pm, General Technique is 8.45pm and Intermediate is 9.45pm.

Only two classes this Bank Holiday week

A quick reminder that most of our classes this week aren’t taking place.

The only classes still running will be the Wednesday afternoon Zumba Gold and Friday afternoon Over 50s at Magnet Leisure Centre.

Classes will resume as normal from Monday 2nd September.

We will also be trialling a new Wednesday night venue on Wednesday 11th September so look for more details coming next week.

Temporary Change Of Venue for Thursday Evening Classes

Learn To Dance 2013 SquareThe Baldwin Institute Hall in Eton, location of our Thursday night dance classes since 2006, closes for regular maintenance every August.

As such our Thursday night classes will move to our Eton Wick venue on Thursday 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd August.  Please note there is no dance class on Thursday 29th August.  The classes will then return to The Baldwin from Thursday 5th September.

Our Beginner classes start at 8pm and Improver classes at 9pm.

You can find our Eton Wick venue by going back up to the traffic lights on the high street, turning left and then following that road until you enter Eton Wick.

The hall is on the left-hand side, just off Haywards Mead.  It should take around 5mins by car, but 30 mins walking!

As well as providing Ballroom and Latin American tuition, Zumba and Zumba Gold classes Learn To Dance also teach Zumbatomic classes in schools.  Zumbatomic is Zumba but designed for kids, they still feature the same dances and great songs, just modified to suit the younger audience.

One of the classes that Antony runs is at Montem Primary School in Slough.  Recently he set his pupils some homework – each suggest a song the following week and Antony would take those songs away and choreograph some routines for future lessons.

As you can imagine they all forgot the homework they’d been set…all except for one girl! Continue reading
