As well as providing Ballroom and Latin American tuition, Zumba and Zumba Gold classes Learn To Dance also teach Zumbatomic classes in schools.  Zumbatomic is Zumba but designed for kids, they still feature the same dances and great songs, just modified to suit the younger audience.

One of the classes that Antony runs is at Montem Primary School in Slough.  Recently he set his pupils some homework – each suggest a song the following week and Antony would take those songs away and choreograph some routines for future lessons.

As you can imagine they all forgot the homework they’d been set…all except for one girl! Continue reading

Your Personal Best Gallery

Learn To Dance Group Shot

Your Personal Best Photoshoot

We’re finally getting round to uploading some our photos from the last 18 months of events, and they’ll trickle through over the course of this week.

First up is a promotional shoot we were asked to do for the Your Personal Best campaign – a campaign to encourage over 55s with a long-term condition, such as Parkinson’s, to keep active.

They were hosting a launch event for the campaign with Len Goodman and Arlene Phillips and wanted a dance group of over 50s to perform at the Olympic Park (which was still under construction at this point).

If you want to see the gallery (and the Youtube video!), head on over to our website.

Introduction to Merengue Workshop

We’ve decided to replace Paso Doble from our regular classes with the Merengue.  The Merengue is a dance from the Dominican Republic and has a slightly different style to our other Latin American dances which we feel will give you a more versatile dance to use ‘out in the open.’

To give you a feel for the dance before we phase it in we have decided to run an ‘Introduction to Merengue’ Workshop on Sunday 23rd June in Eton Wick.

This one-off workshop is a chance to get a feel for the basics of the dance, along with the specific techniques that differentiate this dance from our usual selection.

The class will take place 1.30pm-3.30pm at

Eton Wick Village Hall
Eton Wick Road
Eton Wick

Our workshops are £20pp or £30 if you are a couple dancing together.

You can read more about Merengue on Wikipedia.

If you’re interested in coming along please let us know, advanced booking is not required but is recommended.

Afternoon Tea Dances from next week

We have a brand new afternoon tea dance starting from Wednesday 12th June at our Eton Wick venue.

The Tea Dance is a great way to practice your Ballroom and Latin American dancing in a relaxed atmosphere with a cup of tea or coffee and friends.

There will also be a selection of classic Sequence dances in the middle of the session.

We will be trialling this dance as a weekly event, you are not currently required to book in advance.

The tea dances cost £3.50 per person.

Wednesday 2-3.45pm Afternoon Tea Dance
